Ottawa Visit Wrap Up

We arrived home from Ottawa Monday suppertime to some snow flurries in Halifax. By the time we got home last evening, this is what greeted us:

There had to have been 12 – 14 unplowed inches of snow in our driveway! And trust me, John was not going out at 9 pm last night to snowblow it either! However, first thing this morning he was up and at it and now we are all plowed out and ready to go!

But to get to our Ottawa trip. We had the loveliest time with Shannon and Paul and their 3 Things. It is such fun for us to see the changes in them over the months. We usually get to see them 3 or 4 times a year so any new thing is really noticeable to us.

For example, Thing 3 is talking a mile a minute. Usually in a very soft quiet voice, unless one of her brothers is teasing her in which case she manages to match them in both tone and volume. She has also gotten to be a bit of a flirt, looking at you through lowered eyes.

Things 1 and 2 are growing and just amaze me with their abilities. Especially on the Wii! And they both have hand held games that they play with as well. Look out gaming world!

They all got to spend some quality time with Granddad, which all of them enjoyed. Probably Granddad the most!!

We had great food, even going to an Indian restaurant Saturday night! Shan and I took Things 1 and 2 to see the movie, Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Squeakquel. How cute was that and the boys were sooo good!

In knitting news, I met my friend D at Wool-Tyme in Ottawa and we checked it our thoroughly and made an addition to the stash! I also worked on a baby blanket that Shan is going to knit for a shower gift for one her friends. And the black to white sock was my plane project. I find black hard to knit with and so I need to concentrate. So our airport/ flight time gave me some much needed work on those socks!

And that is our trip to Ottawa in a nutshell! A quick but wonderful visit!

And just think -- there is more snow on the way for tonight and tomorrow! Yuck! We have more than enough. It was such a gorgeous, sunny day, and now it's getting all cloudy.

I still can't get over how much Things 2 and 3 look alike. You can tell they are all siblings, but those two are dead ringers!
