Ok. I am taking the plunge and trying the toe up socks on 2 circular needles. I am knitting the Traditional Gansey Sock from Wendy Johnson's book, Socks from the Toe Up! Shannon picked out the pattern and the colour. (Surprise, surprise......it's blue!) Anyway, I did the Turkish CO and knit up to the first few rows of the pattern and noticed a mistake. So I ripped it out and started over, and over, and over again about 10 times before I finally had 15 stitches on both needles and could actually continue with the toe. (I will mention here that if I was knitting these from the cuff down, I would be down to the heel by now!) Instead I have about 12 rows of the toe done! Great big whoop dee do! And I have ended up with the whole sock on 1 of the circulars instead of two a couple of times, leading me to believe that it won't be long before I switch to my trusty dpns. Which is totally acceptable with toe up knitting. It is just much easier to get them started with the 2 circulars!
And now for the obligatory grandkid pictures:
Thing 3, pretty in pink!
Burying Thing 2 in the sand!
Enjoying time in the water to clean off all the sand! Thing 1 loved the breakers and was having a great time jumping in them and getting soaked!
I'm sure there will be more to come when Lauren and family arrive tomorrow!!

You are brave to attempt the Toe-Up. I am like you and I like my DPN's and I really think I knit them faster that way. Either that or I find it hard to learn new things.
The pictures are great! What adorable grandchildren. Look how much that baby has grown!
I'm getting used to the circulars. I've read that it takes knitting about 3 pairs of socks to really get comfortable with them. As for starting the toe ups I really found the Turkish cast on gave me the least trouble .Casting on 2 different length circs really helped keep me on track .With the Nanner socks I switched to dpns because of a rough join. I'm stubborn and want to get comfortable with the technique just because ;-0 !
The grandkid pics are super ! I see the suncame out for the beach day , hope it continues to stay out while they're visiting . Have a wonderful weekend !
Those three look sooooo much alike! Tiny baby pics they could all pass as the same kid...
