"Frankly My Dear,

I don't give a damn." It's another overcast rainy day but it is only supposed to be the one day and we have had three beautiful sunny days. The forecast for the rest of the week looks great!

And I have finished my Hederas! I think this may have been the fastest I have knit up a pair of socks! One week! Now I just hope they fit the recipient and that she likes them.

Now to decide on my next sock project. I think socks are the perfect knitting project in the summertime as they are light and portable and I get lots done up for gifts, etc. I have a few skeins of handpainted yarn and I would like to knit up one of these, so I am going to be doing the Herringbone Rib Socks by Kristi Schueler out of my new book, Knitting Socks with Handpainted Yarn. Anyone who looks at my ravelry project page will know that I almost always use solids or semi-solids for sock knitting, but I really wanted to use my Pagewood Farms prize yarn for my next project, so, tadah!

We are having friends in for dinner tonight and I am making a recipe I tried a couple of weeks ago and it is delicious! It is called Pasta with Pesto and Scallops. If you are not a scallop fan, you could substitute chicken or anything you would prefer. I have been very efficient and did a lot of the prep work yesterday. The table is set, the pasta has been cooked and divided into portions for heating up, and I have the dessert made. So today all I need to do is the appetizers and the scallops! Bon appetit!!

Look at you go! Quickly knit, beautiful socks, supper all organized.... I have a turkey in the oven. Hubs will be home shortly, so I thought I'd do something big where it's overcast and rainy. Also got a pot of chili on the make so he'll have some food to take back to work with him for the week tomorrow.
