Not Michelangelo maybe, but.....

There is knitting and then there is knitting. I love to knit and have done all kinds of wonderful projects over the years. Some are pretty basic socks and scarves, some are sweaters, shawls and more intricate projects, including lots of wonderful sock patterns. And some projects of these projects I would consider to be works of art. The Faroese Flower Shawl falls in the works of art category!

I finished The Shawl last night at 11:30 and promptly hung it on a padded clothes hanger, sprayed it thoroughly with water and left it to dry!

This morning this is what I have:

And this is the full view from the wrong side to show how the shoulders fit over the hanger:

This if the front view:

The left side panel and the petal edging:

And finally the lower back panel and petal edging:

I love it and shall wear it with pride!!

Kudos to you -- it is pretty enough to frame! But NEEDS to be worn -- Can't wait to see it on you --- the picture of it on the hanger in front of the white door really shows off the blocking and pattern. Did it get a lot larger with the blocking? Looks like it grew a bit.

And so you should wear it with pride :) It's stunning. I love everything about it, especially the colour. I might have to do mine in that, if I ever get around to starting it.

You definitely should wear this with pride! I am so envious of all shawl and lace knitters. It's something that I haven't attempted yet. Beautiful work and I really like the light blue color.
