At long last......Yarn

For those of you only interested in family stuff, this is going to be a knitting post.

John and our friend Ros went golfing this morning so I felt it was time for me to go to the yarn shop, The Flying Needles Inc., in Bellaire Bluffs. Other than popping in Michaels, this was my first visit to a yarn shop since we arrived here on March 1st!! Brian decided to keep me company, so we headed out and got there in about 15 minutes. It is a combination knitting, needlepoint store and I have been there before and quite enjoyed their selection of yarns etc. The shops in the south tend to have much different stock than ours do up north.

So, what did I purchase?

Well, I managed to snag 2 skeins of sock yarn that I am not familiar with called Pagewood Farms Hand Dyed Sock Yarn - Yukon. One is shades of purple, called Plum, and the other a denimy blue, called Denim:

Then I bought the dearest pattern book called The Organic Cotton Kids Collection by Rowan and yarn to knit a dear little cotton jumper for Reese ( to be handed down to Leah )

and a drop dead cute sweater for Hunter. I realize he has no one to hand it down to, but it is just toooo sweet!

The yarn for both projects is the Rowan Purelife Organic Cotton.

Then, to update my knitting in Florida progress, here is a picture of the ever popular clogs that I am knitting for Lauren.

As for the Faroese Flower Shawl, I am on row 57 of 145 rows and not much difference from the last picture! Our friends leave in the morning, so I will have a few days before we head home to work on it and hopefully make some serious progress.

Tonight we are going to Carrabas for dinner. I am thinking there might be a great time held by all!!!

ooohh ... love the new yarn (even the blue one! lol!). Lauren's slippers are very cool, I really like that combo. And the baby knit patterns are going to be super cute. Sounds like a great yarn store, and I bet bryan was a lot of fun to go with -- tell him hi from me, please (he is such a nice guy, and has an amazing eye for colour!).

Great stuff - how cute is that little jumper . . . Leah will be looking forward to it's arrival after Reese "works it" into her wardrobe :-)
