Gunni!
AKA...... American Canadian Champion Kingmont's Young Gun (Gunni is his call name). He is a Welsh Terrier and is 5 years old. He was used for breeding and is now ready for a loving home. We had been talking about and looking for a smaller dog, male and more mature. We didn't want to go through the whole puppy stage again. I couldn't believe it when I got the email on Thursday asking me if we would be interested in this little fellow! It sounded like a match made in heaven!
This morning, with great trepidation, we took Mags up to Regalridge Kennels in Elmsdale to meet him. (She has had a few issues with other dogs in the past 18 months). However, he is a male and not aggressive so there was no problem and he apparently will be happy to have her be the boss. They checked each other out and then basically ignored each other. She was a bit jealous when John made a fuss over Gunni, but was fine when I did. She is definitely her father's girl! So on Tuesday I am going back to Elmsdale to pick him up and bring him home in his new crate to his new home and his new little wee dinner dish!
We got Cleo from Lee Steeves and her husband Ken, the breeders and owners of Regalridge Kennels, many years ago, so we didn't have to go through the whole application and approval thing again. All we have to do is have him spayed and he is ours!
Sorry, no pics! I was so nervous and excited that I completely forgot to take pictures, but trust me, they will come!

congratulations on the new addition! Hope the two of them will get along nicely, play nice and share their toys :)
Aw, congrats! The boys were over to a camper parked across from ours this morning, visiting with their dog. Jewel was sooooo jealous! There's a really cute 6-year-old male purebred registered golden lab in NL that is looking for a home. I keep looking at him, but two dogs, three cats, and the fish may be too much for me. (He'd be someone to maybe put and keep Jewel in line!)
Congratulations on the newest addition to your family. My Golden is 11 and I've been thinking it's time to add another dog to our home but the idea of a puppy is too much. I will be reading anxiously to find out how Gunni does when he is in his new home!
Oh good lord. Things will never be the same at your house again. I can't believe we just missed meeting the little guy!!
Awwww, Gunni, can't wait to meet you:) Congrats!
I figured you guys were 'expecting' too!! Hehehe...looking forward to meeting the young gentleman.
Happy to hear about Maggie's new friend, but Sophie was not so delighted. She keeps asking me if, when we move to our new home in Canada she will be (1) the only foreigner and (b) the only cat in the family.
