Lauren and Mark and Reese were here for Becky and Jonathon's wedding reception. The two girls have been best friends since they were four! So despite having moved to a new house 2 days earlier, they packed up the baby and came to visit and to help celebrate the newly married(in Las Vegas)couple. So of course we have the obligatory Reese pictures:
Here she is showing off her crawling skills!
Totally fascinated with her Dora helium ballon!
And enjoying some laughs with her father!
A great time was had by all at the party. We saw so many of Lauren's high school friends who we haven't seen for many years! It was really a lot of fun, despite the fact that I was the DD. I made one trip to bring some of the older guests back to Hunts Point around 10 and then back at midnight to pick up the rest. Shall we aay that they had a verrrrry good time!
As for knitting, I finished the Lucy Neatby Sea Lettuce scarf and although I was pleased with the way the scarf itself came out, I was not happy with the Fleece Artist yarn. The hand dying was almost two different colours of pinks, a pale peachy pink on the first third, and then almost a fuchia pink on the rest. Now I realize there are those out there who don't mind that, but I am not one of them. I like things to be even and balanced. I knit socks together so they match. I knit sleeves together so they are both the same. I did not expect my scarf to look like it came from two mismatched skeins of yarn! If you check the link above, you will see what it is supposed to look like!
So it is not just me, is it? Even a blind person could see that the stupid scarf looks wrong. Even though it was knit properly! I am really annoyed now that I remember how expensive the yarn was in the first place. I have always liked the Fleece Artist fibres in the past and have used many of them, but this result quite frankly sucks!
I am finished my scarf rant and on to the next thing.
Big gap in posting disclaimer:
I am looking after the website for our reunion and again, I will repeat, I have been so busy the past week. The end date for registrations was April 30 and I think 250 people decided to register that last 2 days. And many of these people are sending in the wrong amounts and then I have to email them and let them know and so on and so on! Sometimes I wonder if these people actually graduated from high school. However, it is loads of fun seeing the names come in and remembering people I haven't seen in , excuse me, 40 years! I also can't believe that it has been 40 years!
I am off to Saint John tomorrow to help Lauren out with the new house, unpacking and sorting and picture hanging type stuff. Then home on Friday for the LUCY NEATBY CLASSES in Mahone Bay on Saturday. I am so looking forward to this! I will have to do my homework in Saint John after I finish Mark's new slippers! Such a busy time! But such fun!
Bye bye for now!

Heddy got some of that yarn for socks, and she was telling me that basically she has the same problem. She's knitting her socks two at once, and she said the foot of the sock looks absolutely nothing like the top of the sock! I haven't seen them yet, but I can't wait.
I love hand-dyed yarns, but I, too, like my stuff to look more "matched". I wouldn't be happy, either!
Have fun on your trip. See you Saturday in MB. Gotta do my homework one evening soon.
Reese is so cute in that first picture, she looks adorable in that pink sweater!!! Sorry about your scarf yarn, they do look a bit strange. Have fun in NB!
isn't she gorgeous !!!!!!
Your little girl is adorable! Those big blue eyes and that charming smile. :) Was googling for a technique on how to knit sleeves together (two at the same time) and was quite distracted by the pictures of Reese! But...I'm wondering if you might be able to give me a quick tip/technique on how to do two sleeves at once? Can't seem to find a technique page on the 'net. If you have time, my email is hollycaliri@yahoo.com. Thanks very much, and happy knitting!
