Read the pattern please!!

I am one of those people who read patterns, I read manuals for appliances, even my new car manual is read from front to back! I always read the pattern!

I have been working away on the sweater for Pete until it was 15 inches long. It is so gorgeous and so soft that I just love touching it and looking at it. It is one of those yarns that you just have to feel over and over again. And the pattern is just so darn beautiful. So I checked the pattern to see what comes next, and lo and behold, I realized I skipped one sentence that said knit to 9 1/2 inches, bind off 5 stitches next 2 rows and then continue until it reaches 15 inches! So I had to rip out 6, count them, 6 inches of knitting to go back and cast off the 5 stitches at each end! Not a happy camper, especially after working all day at the skating competition in Bridgewater. So that is where I am now and may just spend the rest of the day getting back up to the 15 inches again. I deserve a quiet day after all my work for the skating this week.

Bye bye for now.

Been there, done that, and dontcha hate it?! It's so aggravating to misread the pattern and have to rip back, especially that much -- and cabled to boot!

Yikes, sorry to hear about the sweater. The puffy striped looks great, very cute! I think it will look great on him! I hope all the skating goes smoothly . . .
