I did it! I did it! I did it!!
I finished my purple sweater for the Knitting Olympics!! I would like to thank John for being so supportive and helping me out by walking the dogs and doing things around the house so I could knit!! Without his help I would never have been able to finish this in time! And it is really gorgeous if I do say so myself!!
The closeup is there so the pattern could be seen better. It was a 40 row repeat pattern but, as you can see, fairly simple to remember once I did a couple of patterns. Now I have to call my friend Marilyn who is going to Ottawa tomorrow to see if she can take the sweater with her to Shannon, who lives there and is the receipient of my olympic challenge!
Now that I am finished I am going to get cleaned up and go out for lunch and then home to watch the closing ceremonies and finish my Irish Hiking scarf!!
Bye bye for now.

Congratulations! It's beautiful!!
Gorgeous! Shannon is a lucky girl!
Looking forward to seeing the scarf!
Congratulations - Gold Medal to you!
I LOVE the purple- fantastic sweater! And while I wish the US Men's Curling team had gotten the gold, I was happy that if they didn't that the Canadians did - great game:)
Gawd, Internet Queen, and now Knitting Queen ! The things a mere sister has to try to live up to !!!!
It's lovely, truly it is, and Shannon will not only love it, but look gorgeous in it. Purple will be so pretty on her. Photos, please, of the Irish Hiking Scarf ?
I bet this Shannon girl is going to really love that sweater and probably stay very warm in it . . . strangers will likely claw their way through crowds just to stand near her and say they *saw* the sweater!!!
