We celebrate our national holiday, Canada Day, on July 1st! ( See previous post!)
It is my intention not to mention the weather again. I am tired of it. Apparently we aren't going to have summer this year! Although it is not raining, it is again overcast and dismal out. And they are calling for thunder showers this afternoon! Yesterday there were a couple of times the sun came out, but basically same old, same old. So until we have summer weather, I will no longer rant about the non summer weather!
I am up early today as the dogs had a hair appointment in Bridgewater and John had an early morning tee off time in a golf tournament. so I have been and am back and will return for them at 1 this afternoon! It's a pain in the neck, but they look so good and really need shorter coats for the non summer!
Despite the Canada Day power mishap, we are back to normal and the tennis yesterday was great! I got tons of knitting done! In fact:
John's Retro Rib socks, which I renamed Grey Skies, are finished! Thank you Wimbledon! These are the second pair that I knit in tandem on my dpns and I will say that I quite enjoy knitting them this way. You seem to be getting nowhere and suddenly you have a finished pair! No second sock syndrome here!
Next up is a pair of ( gasp!) red Hederas that I am knitting for another KAL I joined. The Cookie A Sock Innovation KAL. These are for a friend who would love a pair of hand knit socks and so she is getting a pair! Red ones no less. With yarn that I bought! For the July solid colour KAL and this month's colour choices are red, white or blue. I just finished a pair of white socks and have knit tons of blue socks, so....... I shall start them today whilst I watch the Williams sisters in the Wimbledon final! I don't really care who wins that one, but I will probably lean toward Venus.
Tonight we are going to the Trattoria in Lunenburg for dinner with friends and I am quite looking forward to that!
Tomorrow - Roger Federer against Andy Roddick ( No that is not a typo! Andy Roddick beat Andy Murray in their semi-final game yesterday!) in the Wimbledon final. If anyone needs to reach me, you know where I will be! Go Roger!!
