Guess who's coming for dinner?

Maggis is a happy dog this morning! Her father is arriving home from Scotland and will resume walking her. He takes her for 1/2 hour to 45 minute walks three times daily, whereas I, with my bad back, manage a 10 - 15 minute hobble twice a day. Just doesn't seem to quite measure up. She does manage to get her business done though! She is such a good girl! And we are having comfort food for dinner tonight.....one of John's favourite's.....baked ziti!

Lauren is home with the baby and all seems to be going well. Reese is quite taken with him, hugging and kissing him all the time! I still don't have any pictures yet, but will post them when I get some! I am going over to Saint John on Wednesday. With John arriving home today and a dinner party I had planned for months on Tuesday ( out of town friends here for a couple of weeks, John away for much of it), I am staying here until then. I am really looking forward to going and seeing the little ones. And the big ones too of course! And Lola!

I am working on the Francie sock and have had to tink back a couple of times. I wouldn't be worrying about it so much, but the pattern has to match on the second foot and I keep losing track on whether I am on a shaping row or not. And I don't always remember to count my stitches. The stitches get moved around on the shaping rows too, which is confusing. So I am still getting to the toe decrease on the first sock.

On Friday a friend and I met our friend in Lunenburg for lunch at the Trattoria della Nonna where we had a lovely leisurely lunch, lots of chatting and laughing and then did some shopping. And look what came home with me. They knew I was doing the Summer of Socks 2008 and wanted to make sure I had enough in my stash to knit socks for 2 months! The colours are lovely and I love the names. Ariquipa by Estelle is the brand name. Check out the colours!

Love the new yarns, especially that bottom one. And I love the sock in progress, it's my kinda color. :)
