Stockholm

We arrived in Stockholm around 3 pm this afternoon on the train. Our hotel is right across the street from the train station and in also close to shopping and sightseeing highlights! Most everything is closed today because it is Easter Monday but should be back to normal on Tuesday. We will have 2 full days here and then head off for home on Thursday. Our flight leaves Stockholm at 10ish and we fly to Chicago, spend about 5 hours there and then fly home to Halifax, arriving around 11 pm. Ulf is picking us up and we should be home by 1:30 or so. allowing for time to pick up luggage and go through customs!

If you have have watched TV or read the news, then you know that I picked a great year to attend the World Skating Championships! We won three medals, Men's gold, Dance silver and Pairs bronze! It was really fun and exciting! Last night our group went out for dinner and who arrived shortly after us but the whole Canadian team. A great cheer went up from our table and I have to say, Jeff Buttle still has the smile on his face from his win the day before!

Saturday night 4 of us went to this amazing seafood restaurant in Gothenburg. The chef is a national hero and this is supposed to be the top seafood restaurant in all of Scandinavia! If our meals were anything to go by, then they definitely deserve the accolades! Absolutely wonderful food and great wine picked out by the sommelier! Fortunately we were taking a cab back to our hotel, so there was no issues re drinking.

That is it for today. We are going to try to find a place open to have dinner this evening and then an early night!

Bye bye for now.
